Peace Corps Assignment

So I just found out about a week ago that I will be going to Togo, in West Africa for my two years (and three months) in the Peace Corps. I am very excited! I will be leaving next June, less than a month after I am done with school here in Oklahoma. So that will be a lot of work in the month of May, packing up from Oklahoma, driving all the way home, unpacking, then repacking to go to the Peace Corps. HOLY SHIT I'M SO EXCITED! I will be in West Africa, speaking French to my heart's content, and being warm all the time!

My work assignment is to be a Small Business/NGO Advisor. Which is ironic, since I resisted my parent's efforts for so long to have anything to do with business ever. But I guess that's what I'm meant to do anyway. I sure know enough about small businesses, having vicariously run one for the past almost 20 years. Plus, of course, the courses I am taking in my masters program are designed to get me to work in the international (business/NGO) community. So it works.

Okay, I probably won't have any more updates until May/June or so. Now back to the life of a graduate student...
